Since 2013, the Nesting Story YouTube channel has documented real life as it unfolded… motherhood, home, work, reinvention, and everything in between. What started as simple videos filmed in my twin’s nursery grew into a long-standing space where women could see the full picture… not perfection, but progress. Through parenting tips, family transitions, business pivots, home projects, and identity shifts, the channel has become a visual record of building a life with intention. It’s honest, practical, and rooted in the belief that you can evolve without losing yourself in the process.

When Oliver's cancer returned, we knew our time with him was limited. After a lot of thought, we decided to adopt a puppy. Partly to give Jackson a friend, but also because we wanted another dog to know Oliver. That's how Charlie came into our lives. Charlie is a potcake rescue from St. Lucia through HelpAWS. He and his siblings were found as strays, but tragically Parvovirus swept through the litter. Charlie and one sister were the only survivors. Volunteer flight parents brought Charlie to Canada, and before long he became part of our family. He bonded with our kids, Jackson, and especially Oliver. Watching Oliver take on the role of mentor to another rescue dog became one of the greatest gifts during a very difficult season. But there was one problem. We couldn't stop thinking about Charlie's sister. When she still hadn't found a home, she was scheduled to travel from St. Lucia to Miami with a group of rescue puppies before making the long journey to Canada through a network of volunteers. We decided to foster her. The moment she arrived, Charlie remembered her. His shy, cautious personality disappeared and his puppy side came alive. They played together, explored together, curled up together, and quickly became inseparable. Our dogs loved her. Our kids loved her. And before long, we loved her too. What was supposed to be a temporary foster situation slowly became something much bigger. We couldn't imagine separating the only two surviving siblings from their litter after everything they had already been through. So Ingrid became June. And fostering became forever. A VIRUS IS GOING AROUND OUR HOUSE
This week’s vlog is a mix of life updates and something a little more personal. I’m sharing how things are going with all three dogs (it’s been a positive adjustment), a quick pool update, and opening up about something I haven’t fully talked about yet… my health. For a long time, I didn’t realize just how unwell I felt day to day. It slowly became my normal. Over the past little while, I’ve made changes (especially with food) and it’s completely shifted how I feel in my body. I’m not perfect and I’m still learning, but I finally feel like I’m getting back to myself. Thank you for being here!

We did something a little unexpected… we adopted another rescue! 🐶 In this video, I’m sharing the story behind bringing home our newest family member, what the experience was like, and how the kids (and dogs) reacted. Helpaws is an incredible rescue doing life-changing work for animals in St. Lucia... rescuing, rehabilitating, and finding loving homes for dogs who truly deserve a second chance. Something has felt off… so I’m resetting everything

Oliver’s cancer is back, and we’ve made the decision to move forward with palliative care. It’s not easy to share, but it’s part of our reality right now.
